Dear Class of ’68:
WOW! What a great Homecoming this year! Joan and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Luther, and I hope that all of you who were there did too. It was a busy weekend with so many activities that it’s impossible to recount them all. For those who were not able to make it, we MISSED you. Really! The pizza party at the Oaks on Friday night was great fun, and I think we all managed to refuel our Mabe’s quotient while circulating and visiting with the crowd. Saturday morning, well, that has to be a Ronnie’s Roll for breakfast and then hanging out on campus, more visiting and shopping in the Bookstore, and then back downtown for egg cheeseburgers for lunch at Mabe’s. Our banquet was in the Hotel Winneshiek with about 80 people, and the food was awesome. Table grace was offered by Laura Blackmore Bachman, more visiting, door prizes, an impromptu Luther Fight Song from the “Back Table,” and, of course, pictures. I was honored to present to President David Tiede a lifetime giving check for over $2 million, representing our class donations in the past forty-five years. Read more...
