Class of 1967 Summer 2017 Reunion Letter

Summer 2017

Dear Classmates,

Class reunions are about reclaiming a bit of one’s youth through sharing memories and reconnecting.   And though none of us share exactly the same memories, we share the strong, common bond that Luther gave us through the experience of community, all the while evolving and growing through our own personal experiences.  We shared the community of dorms and classrooms, freshmen orientation, Messiah weekend, and Mabes.  We shared triumphs and tragedies.

The experience of community and personal development while at Luther provided raw material from which to the build our lives over the past 50 years.  While some have followed the career plan they set out to pursue while at Luther, others have taken a wildly different path.  We’ve had losses and successes.  We’ve grieved, laughed, married, divorced, raised kids, moved, traveled, made money, lost money...you name it, after 50 years, somebody in our class has been through it!

However your story has turned out, it is, indeed, part of the Luther story because we shared and grew together in that community for a while, 50 years ago. That’s the reason for a reunion--and it’s the reason I hope you can be there. Let’s do some remembering and celebrating of who we were then, and who we’ve become now. It’ll be a great time!

On behalf of the committee, I extend this formal invitation to you to attend the reunion celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Luther College Class of 1967.  The schedule of events follows:
