Maybe you are like me in that we are thinking a lot about change in our lives, our environment, and the world around. Many years ago that awareness came to me in a dramatic way. I was at the University of Chicago, and one day I walked home from class with Joseph Sittler, a friend and the most reflective theologian I have known. That day we were both mourning the death of Joseph Haroutunian, one of our dear professors. That morning, as he was driving to school, he was coming down Lake Shore Drive when he suffered a probable heart attack and was involved in a savage car wreck; one incident or another took him.
