Career opportunities in nursing are varied, abundant, and increasing. Begun in 1975, the Luther College department of nursing has developed a baccalaureate program in nursing with a strong foundation in the liberal arts, including the natural and social sciences, humanities, and nursing. The program offers a unique exposure to both the rural setting and a large urban health center, with the third year of the program spent in Rochester, Minn., associated with the world renowned Mayo Clinic.
The program is designed for basic prelicensure nursing students. It provides a solid basis for graduate study in nursing and the ability to enter professional positions ni a variety of care settings with clients of all ages and from diverse populations. The nursing faculty are prepared to advise you about all possible options and the limitless roles and settings where nurses work.
The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE, One Dupont Circle NW, Suite 530, Washington, D.C. 20036-1120; 202-887-6791; www.aacn.nche.edu/accreditation).
