Arts Management ProgramsLuther offers a series of programs for students interested in the growing field of arts management. To complete one of the programs a student is required to complete a major in one of the four areas (art, music, theatre/dance, management) in addition to completing a special group of courses in a second area. Art Management: Art major plus group I, or management major plus group II Music Management: Music major plus group I, or management major plus group III Theatre/Dance Management: Theatre/dance major plus group I, or management major plus group IV Group I Courses: ACCTG 150 and MGT 240; plus any two courses from MGT 351, 352, 353; plus one elective above the 300 level Group II Courses: Three courses from ART 120, 140, 145, 150, and 230; ART 260 or 265; ART 110, 271, 273, or 377; and one art elective (360 recommended) Group III Courses: MUS 120 or one of MUS 341, 344, or MUS 342 and MUS 343; MUS 121, 121L, 122, and MUS 122L; and music elective(s) (4-5 hours; music 250 encouraged); applied music (4 semesters); participation in music organization (2 semesters) Group IV Courses: THD 110 (4 times), 121, 125, 130, 134, and THD 322 |
