Allamakee Community Connections Learning Center

This is a caring community committed to enhancing the lives of our families, providing skills for making healthy, positive choices and promoting lifelong learning for all.

Volunteers needed to assist with various after-school program activities. May include: tutoring, recreation, hobby, and technology Mon. - Fri. 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at least two times per month.

Volunteers needed for tutoring and to assist in various classrooms and activities. Flexible hours.

Decorah Parks and Recreation

Provides quality after-school and recreational programs for school-age children.

Volunteers needed to develop and lead programs, set up activities, or help in existing programs. One day a week for four to six weeks, or Saturday mornings.

Helping Services for Northeast Iowa

Helping Services is a private nonprofit with a mentoring program under its substance-abuse prevention program.

Volunteers needed to spend four to five hours per month for entire school year as a mentor to a young person with high risk factors through various outings and activities.

Imaginarium, Inc.

Imaginarium is a preschool and after-school program located in Decorah. They focus on providing a safe, stimulating and equitable environment for children to learn, play and grow.

Postville ESL Classes

Bi-weekly classes are taught to adult Hispanic and Latino immigrants in Postville. Assistance is also given to those seeking their GED's.

Volunteers needed to supervise children and plan activities for them while their parents are in class. At least every other Tuesday or Thursday, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunflower Child Care Center and Preschool

Provides quality child care for ages 6 weeks to 10 years, including organized preschool classes, and a school-age program.

Volunteers needed to assist staff in caring for kids' needs and/or planning instructional activities. Two hours a week minimum, any day Mon. - Fri., between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 a.m. or 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
