A “Gap Year” is a period of time, sometimes lasting more or less than a year, in which a student may choose to pursue short term opportunities as a transition between his or her undergraduate career and full time employment or enrollment in a graduate program.  The experiences gained during this period of time can be considered a valuable opportunity for a college graduate to gain additional preparation for future endeavors.  A “Gap Year” is an experience... exploratory in a particular field, introspective in self-discovery, capability, and independence, or humbling in service learning.
