Ylvisaker Hall, completed in 1964, is a freshman residence hall. The building is named after J. Wilhelm Ylvisaker (1900-81), president of the college, 1948-61. J. W. Ylvisaker, graduated from Luther College in 1923, and returned to Luther in 1948 to serve as the college's fifth President.
