Diderikke Brandt Hall

Brandt Hall.

Diderikke Brandt Hall, is a freshman dormitory with two distinct wings. The first, Brandt West, and the center section were completed in 1949; Brandt East was not opened until 1958.

The building is named for Diderikke Ottesen Brandt (1827-85), wife of the first college pastor, Nils Olsen Brandt (1824-1921). Mrs. Brandt was known for her hospitality and friendliness to the students and has been called by some the "mother of Luther College."
