Luther College to host 14th annual one-day educational seminar on financial management, retirement and estate planning, and charitable giving
Area women of all ages will have an opportunity to learn more about financial management, retirement and estate planning, and charitable giving at the 14th annual Women, Faith and Finance seminar on Friday, April 6.
Hosted by Luther College, the one-day educational seminar will be presented 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hotel Winneshiek in Decorah. The program is open to the public; registration is required.
An interactive keynote workshop led by Consuelo Gutierrez-Crosby and Cindy Aegerter of InFaith Community Foundation in Minneapolis will kick off the day. Through this workshop, "Multiply Your Generosity: Bold Action, Inspired Giving," participants will learn how women of faith answer the call to act boldly in their generosity through intentional giving.
The seminar also includes a late morning plenary session on estate planning considerations for all life stages led by Jennifer Gumbel, an attorney from Austin, Minnesota. After lunch, Michelle Whitehill of Personally Organized and Brenda Ranum of Luther College will co-present the closing session on downsizing and passing on personal property.
To register for the Women, Faith and Finance seminar, contact the Luther College Development Office, (563) 387-1516, or register online at www.luther.edu/wff. Deadline for registration is Thursday, March 29.
Total cost is $30, which includes resource materials, continental breakfast and lunch.
Participants who sign up with a friend or family member each save $5 off the registration fee. In addition, the first 75 paid registrants will receive their choice between two complimentary resource books. The books include "Downsizing the Family Home: What to Save, What to Let Go" by Marni Jameson, and "Get the Most Out of Retirement: Checklist for Happiness, Health, Purpose, and Financial Security" by Sally Balch Hurme. Decorah Bank and Trust Company is sponsoring the purchase of these books for participants.
