Article 6 – Duties of Officers:

Section 1: The President shall serve as the chief executive officer.

_Part 1. Shall preside over all BSU and Executive Board meetings.

_Part 2. Shall represent BSU to the administration of the college, faculty, student body, and other campus organization.

_Part 3. Shall serve on Executive Board.

 Section 2: The Vice-President shall assume all duties of the president, in said person’s absence.

_Part 1. Shall be a member on all BSU committees. If VP is unable to attend

meetings, he/she must notify that committee’s coordinator

_Part 2.  Shall maintain communications with Black alumni and trustees.

_Part 3. Shall serve on Executive Board.

 Section 3: The Secretary shall take notes at BSU and Executive Board meetings.

_Part 1.  Shall file and preserve all notes and records of the BSU.

_Part 2. Shall give announcements and/or minutes at each meeting.

_Part 3.  Shall post the minutes at the Union and the Multicultural Center.

_Part 4. Shall Serve on Executive Board.

 Section 4: The Communications Coordinator shall be responsible for the transmission and development of all BSU materials and publications.

_Part 1. Shall publicize all BSU events to the campus and community.

_Part 2. Shall publish the monthly BSU newsletter.

_Part 3. Shall publish a monthly BSU Calendar of events.

_Part 4. Shall be responsible for BSU website and e-mail account.

_Part 5. Shall serve on Executive Board.

 Section 5. The activities Coordinator shall coordinate all activities of a social and/or cultural nature—support groups, parties, talent shows, movies, study sessions, trips, etc.

_Part 1. Shall work in conjunction with the Director of the Multicultural Center.

_Part 2. Shall serve on Executive Board.

 Section 7. The Treasurer shall be the chief financial Officer, to be concerned with balancing the duget, finding additional funds, and keeping members informed of the financial status of the BSU at Board meeting.

_Part 1. Shall keep an itemized record of all financial transactions in the BSU Treasurer’s Log Book.

_Part2. Shall present the Executive Board with areport of the current financial status of the BSU at every Executive Board meeting.

_Part 3. Shall be audited once a semester by the Multicutural Center and Executive Board.

_Part 4. Shall serve on the Executive Board.

 Section 8. The Sergeant-At-Arms shall be responsible for maintaining order, per Robert’s Rule of order (Shall be provided by the organization).

_Part 1. Shall be responsible for maintaining parliamentary procedures.

_Part 2. Shall be responsible for finding sites for meetings.

_Part 3. Shall serve on the Executive Board.
