Homecoming Weekend 2013

We welcome all Luther alumni and visitors for Luther's Homecoming October 4 - 6. We are open Friday, October 4 from 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m., Saturday, October 5 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 6 from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. 

The many events scheduled in the Book Shop for the weekend include signings by Luther alum, Callista Gingrich, '88, Richard Simon Hanson, '53, Carson Ode, '63 and Luther Professor Douglas Knick. Steven Nelson will sign copies of his wife, Susan Nelson's, '70, books.

On Friday, October 4, from 3:45 - 4:45 p.m. Douglas Knick will sign copies of his novel, The Kingdom of Collectible Treasures and Professor Emeriti, Richard Simon Hanson, '53, will sign copies of the DVD, How the Bible Happened. 

On Saturday, October 5 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Callista Gingrich will sign copies of her newly released children's book, Yankee Doodle Dandy as well as her other children's book releases, Sweet Land of Liberty and Land of the Pilgrim's Pride.

From 12:30 - 2:00 p.m., Carson Ode, '63, will sign copies of his Iowa books, Iowa: Spaces, Places and Faces and Celebrate Iowa.

From 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., Steven Nelson will sign copies of Susan Nelson's,  books, Dead Woman's Mirror, In Search of Emily, and Zoo Girl. Susan, passed away in 2011, and Steven is in the process of completing other works she had begun to write.
