Since 2007, I have served as artistic and musical director of the Lake Chelan Bach Fest.
Founded in 1982, Bach Fest is a ten-day music festival presented annually (mid-July) in the north central Washington community of Chelan. And yes, we perform the music of J. S. Bach—the greatest of all composers—but not exclusively Bach’s music. Our mission statement describes pretty well what we do, and why:
The mission of the Lake Chelan Bach Fest is to inspire, enrich and educate audiences, participants and the communities of the region through experiencing a variety of live artistic performances.
The Lake Chelan Bach Fest attracts musicians from all over the United States and Canada. We welcome talented musicians of all ages—and the many volunteers who contribute their time and energy to achieve an exciting, exhilarating week of outstanding music!
