Description of object: The globular M30 is in Capricornus. The bright star Fomalhaut lies about 18 and a half degrees away, mostly west and a little south. Although the moon was 50 degrees away when this photo was acquired, scattered light from the moon is evident in the image.

Picture Information: October 1, 2003.  The image was created by adding 28 five-second exposures.
