Exhibition Opportunities for Students

Art at Luther College.

Show Opportunities
Current Luther students can apply for solo, duo, or group shows, with preference given to art majors in the Union and Gregerson galleries. All students who wish to apply for an exhibition must submit a digital portfolio (5-10 images of current work), an exhibition proposal, and a Student Exhibition Application Form (see .pdf below). The exhibition proposal is a 1-2 paragraph discussion of the concerns and preoccupations of the proposed work. It should also address specifically what the show will be (number of works, scale, media, how it will hang in the space, etc) and how it will benefit both the student and the Art Program. These applications are due to Dr. Kate Elliott the last day of spring semester classes for the upcoming academic year.

Please note: Seniors completing a studio art honors project (ART 493) are automatically granted a solo show.

Required Student Exhibitions

Art majors are required to participate in junior and senior group shows that are curated by art faculty members. In addition to these requirements, many studio courses include some sort of exhibition. At the end of each semester a department-wide exhibition is held in the Center for the Arts to display work created in all studio classes throughout the semester.

Off Campus Exhibitions
Information and entry forms for off campus exhibition opportunities can be found on the bulletin board outside the office suite in the CFA. More opportunities are posted on the Luther College Art Program Facebook page here.
