Four courses introduce our students to college-level thinking and creating in the visual arts.
Circa NOW examines contemporary art in the context of history and culture. Students investigate visual language, its purpose, and its importance.
Visual Thinking introduces the elements of visual language. Students take part in a variety of studio projects to emphasize effective visual form.
Drawing introduces basic aspects of drawing to students as they work to address the challenge of thinking and creating. Emphasis on observation and translation of objects and environments into images.
3D Process covers concepts of form and spatial relations. Students learn problem solving through projects aimed at understanding sculptural form.
The courses are generally taken during the first year of study.
