Student Scholarships

The Luther College Art Program has several scholarship for Art majors. These scholarships, with the exception of the Goetsch and the Internship in the Visual Arts Scholarship, are based primarily on merit and are determined by the Art Program faculty as a whole. The selection of scholarship recipients is made in March of the academic year except for the Internship in the Visual Arts Scholarship, which is decided in May.

 

First-Year Scholarships

Open to incoming first-years intending to major in art. Please complete the First-Year Scholarship Application.

O. M. Running Scholarship
To be awarded to first-year or continuing students majoring in art. 

Sadie Simonson Art Scholarship
Multiple awards given to first-year students majoring in art. 

Lennis Moore Scholarship
To be awarded to first-year students majoring in art.

 

Continuing Student Scholarships

Open to upper-class students majoring in art. No application is necessary with the exception of the Internship in the Visual Arts Scholarship. 

Marjorie and Frank Barth Scholarship
To be awarded to continuing students majoring in art. 

Huebner Kegarise Art Scholarship
Two awards given to continuing students majoring in art. 

Jesse and Lorraine Goetsch Scholarship
Awarded to declared art majors of any year who demonstrate a need for financial assistance. The Art Program ranks students for consideration and the Financial Aid Office makes the final selection based on student need. 

Internship in the Visual Arts Scholarship
To be awarded to continuing students pursuing an internship in the visual arts, which may include but is not limited to studios, museums, galleries, art libraries, non-profit art resource organizations, art journals, restoration shops or art retail stores. Students should be enrolled in ART 380, or a corresponding internship course.
