February 14, 2012 at 3:58 pm

Ben Moore '02, assistant professor of art
In this course we will explore classical figurative traditions in oil.  Students explore visual vocabulary through life painting and create personal investigations of observational problems within oil paint on paper.  The course will focus on rapid painting exercises to better represent the figure and understand likeness.  We use self portrait and live models from observation. Limited enrollment; a four-part course. $40 materials fee for brushes, oil paints, and paper.
