Lutherlag 2013

The Bloyd and Anderson families will host Lutherlag 2013.

July 21-26, 2013

RELAX, REFRESH, RENEW!

Relax, refresh and renew are three words that remind us of the vacations we've enjoyed at Lutherlag for the last eleven years.  RELAX... everything is taken care of! Housing is a snap. The Farwell Residence Hall is family friendly and the meals at the Luther Cafeteria and picnic gatherings in the evenings make life easy for the week. REFRESH yourself doing things you enjoy or, better yet, learn something new. And last but not least, RENEW your soul as you make connections with Luther College, Decorah and your fellow Lutherlaggers. What you'll take home from Lutherlag is definitely worth the trip.

Lutherlag is a multi-generational gathering of people interested in lifelong learning. The event is designed to give alumni and friends of Luther access to the top-notch facilities, faculty, and qualities that make up the college. It's also a wonderful way to reconnect with Luther and introduce children to the college. Most attendees have a Luther connection of some kind, although that is not always the case. Everyone is welcome.

The program gives individuals the freedom to explore their interests and provides opportunities for families to spend time together for a truly meaningful vacation and educational experience. Adults and teens may choose from a variety of course offerings taught by Luther faculty, staff, alumni, and others.

Courses are offered throughout the day, and there are also some evening offerings and special activities to choose from. Friday’s closing breakfast will cap of the week.

Hosts for Lutherlag 2013 are Judee (Deyoung) '79 and Roger Bloyd, and their daughter and son-in-law, Abbi and Josh Anderson. The family lives in Salina, Kans., and have attended Lutherlag annually since 2002. Judee is a tax preparer for R & J Salina Tax Service and Roger is a truck driver for Phillips Seed Farms. Josh serves in the National Guard and is in graduate school, while Abbi is working on her bachelor's degree in elementary education.
