Austrian Bike Adventure 2014 - Salzburg to Vienna

Wednesday, June 11 - Monday, June 23, 2014

Tour Summary
Our 2014 Austrian Bike Adventure begins in Vienna with a brief orientation before embarking by train to Salzburg. Well-preserved, historic Salzburg offers a warm welcome as we wander the cobblestone streets and relax with spectacular views of the Alps classic vineyards and unblemished countryside.

Our bike journey back to Vienna will consist of a rejuvenating mix of natural beauty, enchanting history, and the camaraderie of wonderful people supporting one another in a magically peaceful and physically inspiring journey.

We will eat fresh, delicious foods, and experience the thrill of challenging ourselves - and succeeding! Besides meeting bikers on the trail from all over the world, we will build relationships with Luther alumni and friends of all ages and from locations across the states.

To ensure that you fully enjoy your adventure, be ready to bike for up to four hours a day, but certainly at your own speed. We will want to anticipate a variety of weather conditions, terrain both up hill and down, but with only a small on-board kit of daily essentials and water.

The bike route will be mostly flat with some hilly stretches in the Salzkammergut and completely flat in the Danube valley. We will rent bikes in Salzburg, but please bring your helmet!
