Take Interstate 90 to Madison, Wis. Take the Highway 18 exit; follow Highway 18 west through Prairie du Chien to Postville, Iowa. There take Highway 52 to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 5-6 hours
From the Quad Cities
Take Highway 61 north to Highway 136 north. Take Highway 136 north to Luxemburg. There take Highway 52 north to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 3 hours 15 minutes
From Rockford
Take Interstate 90 north to Madison, Wis. Take the Highway 18 exit; follow Highway 18 west through Prairie du Chien to Postville, Iowa. There take Highway 52 north to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 4 hours

Take Interstate 35 north to Hwy 18 east (just south of Mason City). Head east on Highway 18 to Hwy 218 (Floyd Exit). Head north on 218 to Hwy 9 east. Take Hwy 9 east to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 3 hours 15 minutes
From Cedar Rapids
Take Interstate 380 north to Highway 150 exit. Take Highway 150 north to Calmar. There take Highway 52 north to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 2 hour 15 minutes
From Des Moines (This route is recommended for first-time visitors)
Take Interstate 35 north to Highway 18 east (just south of Mason City). Head east on Highway 18 to Hwy 218 (Floyd Exit). Head north on 218 to Hwy 9 east. Take Hwy 9 east to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 3 hours 45 minutes
From Des Moines (This route is quicker, but requires more attention to road changes)
Take Interstate 35 north to Highway 18 east (just south of Mason City). Head east on Highway 18 to Hwy 218 (Floyd Exit). Head north on 218 to CR-B33 east (1 mile). Take CR-B33 (5 miles) to CR-T64 north. Take CR-T64 (8 miles) to CR-B17 to Elma (10 miles). Take IA-272 east (7 miles) to Highway 63 north. Take Highway 63 north (3 miles) to CR-A46 to Ridgeway (16 miles). Turn left on Short Street in Ridgeway. Take Hwy 9 east to Decorah (10 miles). Approximate travel time: 3 hours 15 minutes
From Dubuque
Take Highway 52 north all the way to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 2 hours 15 minutes

Take Highway 20 east to Interstate 35. Take Interstate 35 north to Highway 18 east (just south of Mason City). Head east on Highway 18 to Hwy 218 (Floyd Exit). Head north on 218 to Hwy 9 east. Take Hwy 9 east to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 3 hours 15 minutes

Take Interstate 380 north to Highway 150 exit. Take Highway 150 north to Calmar. There take Highway 52 north to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 2 hour 45 minutes

Take Highway 18 east to Highway 24 in New Hampton. Continue heading east on Highway 24 to Calmar. Go north on Highway 52 in Calmar (10 miles) to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes

From Winona
Take Highway 43 south through Rushford and on to Mabel. There take Highway 44 west to Highway 52; take Highway 52 south to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 1 hour

From Eau Claire
Take Highway 93 South to Centerville. Go east on Highway 93/54 and continue to Highway 53 South. Follow 53 South to La Crosse. Take Interstate 90 West. Immediately after crossing over the Mississippi River into Minnesota, take the exit for US Highway 61/14 south to LaCrescent, Minnesota. In LaCrescent, follow Highway 16 to Hokah. In Hokah, take Highway 44 west to Highway 52. Follow Highway 52 south to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 3 hours
From Green Bay/Appleton area
Take Highway 41 south to Highway 21. Take Highway 21 west to Interstate 94. Take I-94 South to Interstate 90 West. Follow I-90 West to La Crosse. Immediately after crossing over the Mississippi River into Minnesota, take the exit for US Highway 61/14 south to LaCrescent, Minnesota. In LaCrescent, follow Highway 16 to Hokah. In Hokah, take Highway 44 west to Highway 52. Follow Highway 52 south to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 4.5 to 5 hours
From La Crosse
Cross the river into LaCrescent, Minnesota. In LaCrescent, follow Highway 16 to Hokah. In Hokah, take Highway 44 west to Highway 52. Follow Highway 52 south to Decorah. Approximate travel time: 1 hour
From Madison
Take Highway 18 west through Dodgeville, Fennimore, and Prairie du Chien. Cross over to Marquette, Iowa and take Highway 76 north. Highway 76 will turn into Highway 9 west; follow Highway 9 west until you reach Highway 52. Turn right onto Highway 52 north. Approximate travel time: 3 hours
From Milwaukee
Take Interstate 94 west to Madison. Take Interstate 90 south to Highway 18. Take Highway 18 west through Dodgeville, Fennimore, and Prairie du Chien.
