Plan a Campus Visit

We invite you to check out Luther in person to see for yourself what we have to offer.

Experience student life first-hand by meeting a professor or two, touring our campus, grabbing a bite to eat in our cafeteria, sitting in on a class, and staying overnight in a residence hall.

If you’d like to talk with a coach or one of our music directors, just let us know.

You have two options for visiting Luther:

Option 1—Campus Visit Events

Campus visit events provide opportunities for families to learn more about Luther, our people, and our programs. A typical Admissions Visit Event includes two sessions for students to meet faculty members from a variety of academic disciplines, a tour of our campus, lunch in our dining hall, and dialogue with current students in a panel setting. A session on financing a college education is also offered for parents.

Additional special interest group visit events are scheduled throughout the school year. If you are on the Luther mailing list, keep an eye on your mailbox for invitations to special events for scholars, athletes, musicians, or admitted students.

View the visit event schedule here: www.luther.edu/admissions/visit/eventSchedule.aspx.

Invitations to our visit events are generally mailed to students approximately four weeks in advance of the event. You may also register by calling our admissions office at (800) 4 LUTHER (800-458-8437).

Option 2—Individual Visits

If you’d prefer, we would be happy to arrange an individual visit. Based on interests you indicate, we schedule a campus tour; a meeting with an admissions counselor; appointments with faculty, music directors, and/or coaches; and a meal or snack in our dining facilities.

Students may also elect to sit in on classes or rehearsals, schedule a music scholarship audition (prior to March 15), observe athletic practice (usually at the invitation of a coach), or stay overnight with current first-year students.

To schedule an individual visit, contact the admissions office at admissions@luther.edu or (800) 4 LUTHER (800-458-8437).

Please avoid these dates when scheduling a visit to Luther, as our admissions office will be closed:

  • Saturdays during the Summer / May 3 – September 6, 2008
  • Memorial Day / Monday, May 26, 2008
  • Independence Day / Friday, July 4, 2008

Please note that on the following dates there will be only limited access to faculty and no overnight housing. Campus tours and interviews with admissions personnel, however, can still be arranged.

  • May 1 – September 30, 2008

Every Life has a larger meaning. At Luther, we help you begin to find it.

-- Jon Lund, executive director of international admissions
