Family Weekend and Tennis
September 24, 2012This past weekend was family weekend, but it was also the individual conference tournament for the Luther College Men’s Tennis Team…also known as…the busiest weekend of the semester (as of now). SAC Cinema Changes
September 16, 2012One of the things that I am involved with on campus is SAC (Student Activities Committee). I am the co-chair of the SAC Cinema Committee, which is responsible for showing movies to the students about once a month throughout the school year. In previous years we had an agreement worked out with the local theater in town where students could go to the theater and see one of three movies playing in the theater. It was a really fun time to get a group of your friends together and get off campus for a while to see a movie…not to mention the movie theater concessions. Read more...

An update of the past couple of weeks
April 16, 2012Where has the time gone? These last few weeks in D.C. have all been a blur. I have spent majority of my time working, going on field trips, visiting museums, and getting to know more about D.C. as each day passes. Read more...A weekend full of events
March 26, 2012These past couple of weeks has been very eventful to say the least. I feel like I have had so much to do as my time in Washington flies by. To begin, last week the LCWS group had the opportunity to go to the State Department to hear a speaker. Our speaker was working with Muslim relations throughout the world and it was very interesting to hear about her experiences and stories about working all over the world representing the United States. March 13, 2012This past weekend I got the opportunity to volunteer at a tennis tournament that was raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis research. My roommates and I traveled out into Virginia on Saturday evening and spent our night facilitating the tennis tournament while lots of people talked, dined and played a lot of tennis. It was nice feelings to donate my time to an event like this. Overall, the event raised over 300,000 dollars for Cystic Fibrosis research which is really awesome. It was a good experience and I got the chance to network with a few individuals (fingers crossed that it helps in the long run) Read more...D.C. Things

February 7, 2012Another week has past and it’s time for another update about my life out in D.C. Now where to begin? For starters, the weather out here has been really nice. I have had the pleasure to go on numerous runs outside, which is pretty uncommon to hear about in January! I am not sure how it compares to weather back home but, normally, I am used to having a ton of snow and cold temperatures to compliment the cold winter months. Read more...Living the life in D.C.
