This week I will finish my biggest college paper to date. In my research methods class, I was assigned a social science research paper a few weeks ago. This entails choosing a research question, doing research on theories related to my topic, interviewing people, transcribing interviews and writing a paper on my findings. My topic is the relationship between adult children and their parents affected by Alzheimer’s Disease. I interviewed six people fitting that category last week, resulting in 24 pages of data. I am now in the process of analyzing, researching and writing. This has been the most interesting project but also the most time consuming. The due date cannot come quickly enough!
Despite the massive amounts of work that accompany that project, I did manage to have some fun this weekend. Andy Grammer and Parachute performed in the CFL Saturday night as part of the SAC Concert Series. I was especially awed by Andy Grammer’s live performance. Being able to sound the same as your recordings is impressive and he wasn’t a let down. His lyrics are similarly inspiring, my favorite being, “You can do this, you can do this, you are not a lunatic. Crazy would be leaving this behind.” Considering these last few weeks of the semester will be crazy busy, I might feel like a lunatic, but I am sure I can do it!
