Stressed out and it's not even midterms

Stressed out and it's not even midterms

October 3, 2011

Hey Guys My weekend was filled with so many different events that I don’t even know where to begin. SAC had a series of events starting on Thursday with free movie night at Viking Theater in town. We had around 650 people show up to movie night so it was a great success. Our most popular movie was Lion King 3D, which is kind of surprising considering it’s a Disney movie but I guess we all love reminiscing about our childhood. On Friday SAC Spotlight put on a show by Plastik Music. They are a band that has been on America’s Got Talent and have been touring all over the United States for the past couple of years. Their music consists of things like boom-whackers being hit on garbage cans and making music. It was definitely a cool show and I was very impressed with their choreography and musical ability.

This past weekend was Family Weekend and an Admissions Visit Day so I got to spend my Saturday morning giving a tour to prospective students. It was my second time giving a tour and I think it went really well. The family was very nice to talk to and they were really impressed with everything that Luther had to offer. I think I did a good job and hope that the student definitely considers Luther as an option. Sunday was the Colbie Caillat Concert sponsored by SAC Concerts. Twice a year we have two big named artists come to Luther to put on a show for the students. In the past we have had artists such as Ben Folds, Jacks Mannequin, Jason Derulo and Sean Kingston. The show was really great. Colbie has a great live voice and she was really talented and nice. I have heard nothing but good things about the show so I give out huge props to the SAC Concerts committee and all their hard work that they have been putting forth the past couple of months.

Today has been a pretty hectic Monday. I have lists of things that I need to get done this week. I don’t know where I am going to find all the time to do this and stay on top of my studies. I guess I am going to have to sacrifice some late night TV or mid-afternoon naps. I hope I make it. Midterms are right around the corner and I can’t afford to break down this early. On the plus side the weather looks like its going to be around 70 degrees all week which is awesome for October. Hopefully I will be able to go on some runs outside and get a few good work outs in. I hope everyone has a great week! I am definitely working for the weekend. Take care, Mario
