Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, readers! I hope this blog finds you with family and friends this holiday weekend, and, if you are in the Midwest, enjoying your spring without snow. I’m writing to you from my friend’s house in Minneapolis, where I was graciously taken in, instead of being one of the few left on campus. This short week leaves me with few events to report, but reportable nonetheless.

Spring Happenings

The dreaded week after spring break is completed and it wasn’t nearly as horrible as predicted. I was expecting a harsh adjustment from sleeping in to an 8 AM Paideia class, a fast week of couch time to a slow week full of drudgery and possibly even sunshine switched to cold and rain. I should never be so pessimistic again, because this week was wonderful!

A Little Sunshine

It’s a beautiful spring day here at Luther on the brink of spring break. People have been spotted playing Frisbee, going on runs and even the benches have been replaced around campus for soaking up some long-awaited Vitamin D. It’s amazing how sunshine affects everyone’s mood.

Globally Minded

I always expected college to change my view of the world, but I had no inkling as to how fast this process would happen. Sure, moving to the Midwest was the first change and gaining knowledge of a different culture in Vienna was eye-opening, but the Nobel Peace Prize Forum this weekend was by far the most inspiring.

Second Semester Happenings

The Vienna daze has left and it’s back to reality. I’m in the second week of classes and all is well. I still look back on my Vienna experiences often, but second semester work is here and calling my name, so it’s time to move forward.
