Tour!!!

This past weekend I had the privilege of joining 101 of my closest friends on a tour for Collegiate Choral; for anyone who’s been to Christmas at Luther, we are the choir in red. Leading up to the tour I wasn’t really looking forward to missing classes and being on a bus for hours on end. But looking back now I am so glad I was a part of it because it was a blast. The group left early on Thursday morning and headed down to Des Moines to sing at a school, which just happened to be the one I graduated from. The choir directors there are both Luther grads so needless to say they were very excited for us to join. Afterwards we headed over to Council Bluffs for an evening concert. This was our first big test to see how prepared we were for our tour, the result was outstanding. As the tour went on we stopped in Sioux City, Sioux Falls and finally Austin, MN. By Sunday afternoon when we stopped for our final concert in Austin everyone was exhausted. It had been a long weekend with lots of singing, but we were not finished yet. In Austin there were lots of Luther Alumni at the concert so we knew we needed to bring our A game, and we did. Since day one of the tour we never stopped improving. It was such a great experience to be a part of. The bond that I formed with members of the choir will be everlasting. To say I made a few new friends would be an understatement. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to tour; it is just another incredible privilege I receive as being a part of the music department here at Luther.
