The First Close

So this first semester has been phenomenal at Luther College. Here are some of the things I learned and experienced this year:

  • I learned to never go in a river while wearing sunglasses if you want to keep them
  • Best friends can be made in the most unexpected places, especially when you pirate together
  • The elevator in Brandt is the sketchiest thing you will ever find
  • The Sugar Bowl is MUCH BETTER than the Whippy Dip, even if its a little farther walk
  • Decorah has more beautiful nature spots than anywhere else in Iowa
  • Luther Internet? What's that?
  • Being in a college show is a huge amount of fun
  • Working in the scene shop is also a huge amount of fun
  • Eat in the caf as little as necessary
  • Luther's dining areas have THE BEST views of anywhere in the midwest
  • I hate stacked thirds and everything to do with them
  • I also hate finding intervals
  • the syllable "mi" and "me" should be removed from ear training, as that note is more elusive than a roaming legendary Pokémon
  • Pokémon and Yu-gi-oh are still things in college, people do play them
  • International Students love to cook
  • Watching a southerner in the snow for the first time is the most entertaining thing ever
  • Luther has a rare book room. It's awesome.
  • the CFA is where I spend all of my time
  • You need to either practice early or late if you actually want a practice room in Jenson
  • You can actually work out and be healthy without completely changing your lifestyle and only changing a few things
  • Decorah has the cleanest water in Iowa
  • Luther makes you healthier overall. I lost 20 lbs this semester
  • You can leave your wallet unprotected but a bike will get stolen right away
  • Boxing is a ton of fun
  • Make sure you schedule time for yourself

All of this and more have I learned this semester, and I have 7 more to go! I can't wait! Merry Christmas everyone!

Sing Well,

Stephen
