A productive spring break

Spring Break is here at last! It’s such perfect timing after the past few weeks of hard work. This semester, my last semester ever at Luther, I’m taking three classes that are keeping me very busy as well as working, taking a pilates class and writing my senior paper. I thought it was going to be a little more laid back, but it’s as busy as ever. This is a good thing though, because I’m taking very interesting classes and really enjoying working on my senior paper.

With how busy my semester has been, I really couldn’t consider going on some exotic spring break trip this year. Instead, I’m using this break to do homework, work on my senior paper and continue in my search for a job. It’s a break to catch up on everything, rather than a break to relax. The way I look at it though is that by working on everything now I’m helping myself to feel a little less stressed out later. I’m contributing to my future relaxation. I would say that that is definitely worth it.

Searching for a job is such an exciting and nerveracking experience. I’m sure most college seniors would agree with this statement. It’s so exciting to know that in a few months I will have completed my degree and will be out in the ‘grown-up world.’ I can’t wait to be self-sufficient. I can’t wait to be able to say that I work for a living and support myself. It will be the ultimate sign of indepedence. I’ll finally be joining the adult world. It’s so thrilling!

It’s also nerveracking, because I’m working so hard to find a job that will feel meaningful and important to me. It’s no secret that most graduating seniors do not have their dream job right out of college, so I don’t have unrealistic expectations. However, it’s an adventure. Wherever I end up working right out of college will be an adventure. It’s so exciting! I’ve applied various places over break, and already have a phone interview this coming Monday. It’s just so exciting considering all of the possibilities!

I’ve had a very productive spring break, which makes me very happy. I’m feeling ready to go back to school a little less stressed out. It was such perfect timing for a break.

Cheers ladies and gents :)
