Christmas: Here We Come

December 12, 2012

I read today that December 12th marks the halfway point between the beginning of December and Christmas. December 12th also marks the ending point of the semester for me (except one final on the 13th, but I’m doing my best to avoid thinking about that for now).

The more I thought about it, the more I realized how truly divided the month of December has been for me, and I would imagine for most Luther students. The first half of the month was busy with Christmas at Luther, going to class, Decorah's first snowfall, turning in final papers and projects, Christmas events on campus, filling out study guides, hanging out with Luther friends, finalizing class schedules, a lot of studying, and stressful exams.

At 10 AM tomorrow, I’ll be driving home to enjoy the second part of December, which will include seeing friends from home, baking cookies, more snow, wrapping presents, working, leisure reading, yoga classes, sleeping in, watching TV, and all around being pretty lazy.

As much as I hate finals, both parts of December seem pretty okay in my book. (I just wish there were more cookies in the first part).

Merry Christmas, all!
