Holiday Cheer

One of the GREATEST things about Luther in December is all of the holiday cheer throughout campus. Tomorrow marks one of my favorite days on campus…CHRISTMAS IN THE UNION. The evening consists of cookies, cider, hot chocolate, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Christmas activities, and much, much more.

This special event is put on the committee SAC Special Events, and it always has a great turn out. I will be spending majority of my time with my Pal, Zach, but it will still be fun. Since there will be little children running around the Union all evening it should be quite a fun time. I think my favorite part will be seeing all the kids reactions to seeing Santa Claus.

SAC Christmas Cheer is another committee on the Student Activities Council that has an event around Christmas time. Their goal is to provide a way for student organizations and groups of people to raise money to buy gifts for families in need for the holiday season. This year there are a total of 57 families sponsored by students and faculty on campus. I can say that I am proud that so many people are willing to donate their time and money to help the less fortunate in our area.

Another exciting thing that is happening tomorrow is the Holiday meal in the cafeteria. It is also one of my favorite meals in the caf because the food is really tasty. It is almost comparable to a home cooked meal, but not quite. It is nice to have something like this to look forward to every year. It brings the end of the semester to a nice close.

With all of this holiday cheer all over campus, I am getting more excited to head home for break. I hope I can make it!
