Thanksgiving break has been so busy that I forgot to update this past week. I turned my senior paper in on Tuesday and it felt like the biggest weight was lifted off of my shoulders. Now all I have to worry about is my finals in a few weeks. I can’t believe that we only have 3 weeks left of school (2 weeks of classes and 1 week of finals).
It is crazy to think that I am almost halfway done with my senior year of college. It’s kind of a bittersweet feeling. Part of me is going to miss Luther, Decorah, and all of my friends. But another part of me is ready to move on, try new things, and meet new people. I think it is a similar feeling to my senior year in high school where I was ready to graduate about halfway through the year.
I am all registered for my second semester classes and I am pretty excited. My schedule worked out where I only need credits to graduate. Therefore, I am taking three classes that should be relatively easy and what I have wanted to take throughout my time at Luther but haven’t had the time in my schedule to do so. My classes are Diverse and Exceptional Learner, Adaptive P.E. and Pottery. I am glad that I front-loaded my fall semester with all of my required classes to graduate and senior paper. I did this because I wanted to enjoy my second semester and not stress out about school.
For J-Term I will be taking a class called directed readings. It entails reading 5 books, journaling about them and then discussing them with other people taking the class. I am fortunate enough to take this class from home this year. I am pretty excited about staying home for J-term. I haven’t spent much time at home the last 3 years because of internships, school, and travelling. This way I will have about 6-7 weeks at home before 2nd semester starts up. I think this will be nice because once June rolls around I will be moving to a different location to start working, and then I really won’t be home very often.
It’s a weird feeling that I am wrapping up my undergraduate career, but it’s coming together nicely.
