Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2012

Today is Halloween, and many festivities are occurring on Luther’s campus, my personal favorite being young trick-or-treaters coming through the first-year dorms. College students who wanted to hand out candy signed a form and then placed a pumpkin on the door of their room. Tonight, young kids from Decorah are coming around to dorm rooms, dressed in costume, seeking candy.

The study lounge in Ylvisaker Hall has also been converted into a play-room of sorts filled with Halloween activities (see attached picture of Halloween Croquet). Students were able to volunteer in one hour sessions to manage the activities and to hand out candy as rewards.

Although little kids are almost always cute and fun to be around, it is especially nice to have contact with humans who aren’t between the ages of 18-23!

Happy Halloween, everyone!
