This is a race where alumni come back home and race in the home trails competing with us and other colleges. For the past two years I have not been able to run the All American race due to injuries, and I was beginning to be scared because I almost missed it this year. Two weeks prior to the race I had a sharp pain on my right leg. I had no idea what it was. Icing, stretching, rolling, biking and the gym was my daily bread. I really wanted to run but I had to be patient and allow my leg to heal. Towards the end of the week I was feeling better, and we had a meet but I did not run. I was sad to miss the first race of the season but I was happy because my legs were feeling better. The follow week, the week of the All American race, I started running again. There are no enough words to describe the feeling of running again after a week of no running at all. I was super, super excited because that meant my first season race was going to be a home race, The All American.

Saturday morning I woke up did some homework, and at 10:00am I went to the locker room and put on my uniform. WOOOO, I felt like I was superman and superfast, I felt great!!!!! At 11:50pm the gun went off, and everything just turned blue and white right in front of me. The XC norsemen started to do what they do best. I ran the whole race pain free for the first time in two years. It was the greatest race I have ever had in my life. It was my first time to do a cool down with the team pain free. After the race, our parents prepared a wonderful lunch for us and we ate and ate and enjoyed the fantastic meal.

What a perfect way to begin my season.
