KWLC

September 9, 2012

I have just completed my first ever KWLC classical radio show and everything went swimmingly. For three hours every Sunday afternoon, you can hear a diverse collection of instrumental and vocal tunes, loosely categorized in the Classical era. My show is the last of the run, from 2-3 PM, and I think it was a great first go-around. I played Shostakovich, Brahms, Schubert, Sibelius and Rachmaninoff, all in one hour! It was a whirlwind, to be sure, but I think that because of the hands-on nature of the task, the more I do it, the more comfortable I will get. All the buttons, sliders, switches and doodads are a little disorienting at first, but it really is a pretty simple process between CD and digital recordings. The only thing I haven’t ventured to yet has been the turntable, so I will let you know how that goes... Before I leave you, I will shamelessly promote my show one more time: Sunday, 2-3 PM CDT, streamed through this link: www.luther.edu/kwlc/listen/. Have a great week, blogosphere!
