Washington D.C. and Upcoming Goals

Hey Guys, What a weekend! Where to begin? The Adventure Race was a great success. We had 50 competitors competing and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for the race. There were many participants that completed the entire race on their own, which is definitely something to be proud of. I decided that I was going to sign up for the adventure race next year and complete it by myself. Hopefully I stick to my word. On other notes I just started the process for applying for internships for when I study in Washington D.C. for the semester. I am looking at interning for a couple different senators and representatives from Minnesota. For those of you that don’t know, during the spring semester I will be participating in the Lutheran College Washington Semester Program (LCWS) which means that I will be spending a semester in D.C. interning and taking a couple of night classes. The main part of the program consists of me interning 9-5 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesdays the program sets up field trips around the area so we get the opportunity to visit museums and see many different parts of the city. I am really looking forward to this opportunity and can’t wait to get out there. I have only heard good things from previous participants. In other news, I decided recently that I want to run a half marathon this upcoming summer. So the time to start training is now. I started running every day last week and it’s going good so far. I am hoping to run some 5ks and 10ks in the upcoming months and I heard that D.C. is a great place to run so I am definitely looking forward to running out there. Hopefully I follow through on my plans and continue running every day. This upcoming week is looking pretty busy as usual. I am hoping I can make it through until the weekend, which will equally be as busy. This weekend is parents weekend and SAC has a lot of events this weekend. We have Plastik Music coming on Friday, which is similar to the blue man group. Also we have Colbie Caillat coming for a show on Sunday. It’s going to be a busy but exciting weekend around campus so I am looking forward to that. I’ll keep everyone updated in upcoming weeks Until next time, Mario
