SAC & Spring

Hey All! This week was much more relaxing than last week. I had four tests last week so naturally my course load this week was not bad at all. I actually found time to sneak in some naps during the day, which was pretty nice. I used to nap all the time last year but I haven’t had that same luxury this year.

Last week was the elections for the Student Activities Council Executive Board. For those of you that don’t know much about Luther, we have a Student Activities Council (SAC) that sponsors, creates, and organizes different events for students to attend on campus. They run the fall and spring concerts and pretty much every weekend there is a different SAC event. It’s pretty nice because living in Decorah sometimes you run dry on things to do on the weekends. I ran for co-chair of the Cinema committee, which is in charge of putting on a movie night at the Viking Theater in town once a month. We had voting on Wednesday and I found out Thursday morning that I had been elected as co-chair. This was pretty exciting news and I am really looking forward to being on the executive board. I currently work in the Student Activities office so I am pretty familiar with all of the SAC events and how things run so it won’t be an awkward transition.

March 1st was the application deadline for Malta and now I’m playing the waiting game to hear about interview times with the professor that is leading the program for the 2011-2012 school year. I will probably be uneasy until I find out if I am in the program or not. It is so nerve-racking. I just want to know if I am accepted or not.

Spring is just around the corner and I can’t wait. I keep thinking about summer while in class and it’s getting hard to focus. I probably shouldn’t be thinking this far ahead since there is still snow on the ground…but it’s melting pretty quickly. This weekend I don’t have many big plans. I think I am going to do some laundry so I don’t have to bring any home for spring break (hopefully). I will probably end up watching some movies tonight and just taking it easy. It was a pretty long week; the days just seem to drag by. I have some religion reading to do so I have to get going.

Until next time! Mario
