J-term Life

Hey Guys! To begin, I want to apologize for updating late pretty much every week so far. I don’t know why I can’t get myself to remember to blog on Thursdays now. I think part of it is that I was so used to updating my blog on Sunday’s last year instead of Thursday and I have not really adjusted apparently. I am trying my hardest to remember to do it. I have all of my friends setting alarms on their phones to remind me to blog on Thursday so hopefully I will actually get a blog done on a deadline for once, but no promises. I have been trying to play tennis every day because we have practice starting up this week and I have not been training as hard as I should have been and it will probably show during the first week. However, I am really excited for practice and the season to start. I was talking to my friends about how happy I was about my decision to play this year. I didn’t play last year, and I really regret it. Joining the team has only done good things for me. I have met a ton of new cool people, played the sport I love, and it gives me something to do every day to stay active. It is really nice that everyone has the opportunity to join an athletics team here at Luther. All I had to do was talk to the coach and he told me that it wouldn’t be a problem if I joined the team. I know that some people think that Division 3 sports are not what you’re looking for, but there are also tons of intramural teams and recreational groups here on campus, so there are plenty of ways to stay active and meet people. On a completely different side note, while I was at work this past week I discovered that our spring concert that the student activities council puts on every year is Jason Derulo. This is crazy; you would never think that someone with such a big name like Jason Derulo would come to a place like Decorah, Iowa. It should be a great show and I am still waiting to hear about who the opening act is. Tickets do go on sale to the public so if you’re looking to visit campus and see Jason Derulo (for a fairly decent price) then you could do both one weekend. J-term is almost over (as of today we have a week and a half left) and it completely flew. I don’t know how ready I am for second semester because I am not mentally there right now. I don’t want to think about stressful classes or doing homework every night. It’s been really nice to relax this month it definitely is a nice change of pace. Well back to finish some reading before bed. Hope everyone has a great week! Mario
