Where to begin this week? After getting back from Chicago, I was so exhausted. We were waking up every day at 7 to get ready for meetings that we had going until 8 or so in the evening. It was a pretty fun experience though. On Friday night we rented a limo and got a little city tour, it was my first time in a limo so that was pretty cool. We headed back to Decorah at 2 in the afternoon on Saturday, and it was about a 6 hour drive so when we got back I didn’t even unpack I just went to bed…that’s how tired I was.
This week has been pretty solid with the workload. I had two tests and two lab reports to write so that kept me pretty busy. It seems like as the weeks go on I am constantly busy with work to do every day. Trying to balance my jobs, classes, labs, and tennis is a challenge for me. I find myself freaking out over little things because I have so many deadlines to meet in such a little time. I still need to work on my time management skills, but it is getting better. I suppose that if this year is tough, I can't even imagine next year and senior year. Trying to work on a senior paper and find a job. Ah I don't even want to think about it.
I applied for 4 internships for J-term so hopefully I get one of those. Registration was this week; I got into all the classes that I wanted, but not at the preferred time. I have a class at 2:45 next semester, which is going to make practice at 4 every day real fun. You would think since I am a sophomore getting all my preferred classes at the right time would be easier…but apparently it isn’t.
It’s hard to believe that the year is halfway over. Every month seems to be going by even faster than the previous. Before I know it, it will be second semester and then summer. I am almost halfway done with my college career, and I don’t really have a clue of what I want to be doing once I graduate. I have ideas of the kinds of jobs that I want to do, but I don’t know how or where to get them…hopefully I can figure that out. I’ll have to stop by the career center again (I seem to be a regular there).
On a side note, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows comes out on Thursday and I am beyond pumped to see this movie., I have been waiting for years for this movie to come out. A bunch of friends and I are going to the midnight premier so that should be a lot of fun. I am grateful that Decorah’s Theater is showing it.
For this weekend, I think I am going to take it easy. It’s been raining today so it makes everything feel a little gloomy. Hopefully I find something fun to do. Either way it will be nice to relax and catch up on some quality TV shows or a movie. I also can’t wait for Thanksgiving Break all that warm home cooked food. It should be a good time to see my family and relax.
Time for class, Until next time, Mario
