I have no lesson, no insight and no moral to the blog this week. Simply an update of my college life. Since I last wrote, I have seen an amazing a capella rock group (InPulse) and a film that applies to my generation in so many ways that it’s rather frightening (The Social Network). I have sported blue highlights in my hair for a whole 24 hours in preparation for Homecoming Week. Sadly, I washed it out too soon and turned my blonde hair a funny grey color. I have played Bananagrams for the first time, but apparently French words don’t count. My craving for real Mexican food was finally satisfied at Don Jose’s. I made a trip to Wal-Mart, not so exciting, but finding apples from my home state was rather enjoyable. I sniffled as I watched an inspiring episode of Glee and am looking forward to Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory and Project Runway.
Another Paideia paper has been conquered and I have conjugated multiple French verbs, and derived more problems than anyone would care to know. I worked another long shift in the dish room but sustained no injuries this time. I learned yoga in my Fitness and Wellness class with more football players than should ever be in a yoga class. I’m hurriedly organizing a recreational volleyball team, the deadline is this week!
The commands, “Look at the key signature!” and “Learn the notes!” have been uttered one too many times by my orchestra conductor. I performed on the piano for the first time in over three months and I found it just as exhilarating as I’d remembered. I had dress rehearsal for our Symphony concert in the Center for Faith and Life. I attended my first real, though admittedly quirky, cello sectional. Coffee has been plentiful and the snooze button has been hit multiple times, but that’s not out of the ordinary. That’s all folks!
