New Diet

While on facebook last week, 9 May 2014, I notice that my friends have put up a challenge of eating a vegetarian diet for a week. I have never thought of going through a whole week without eating meat but next week will be the first.

It is Done

The first three days of the last week of April were the shortest days ever. I felt like time was flying and I was always behind chasing it. After Wednesday the days were normal again but my body was feeling the fatigue from chasing time in the previous three days.

Umoja

Umoja Conference

On the 19th of April 2014, we drove to St Olaf for the Umoja conference. The theme of the conference was moving forward. The 2014 Umoja conference was one of the greatest conferences I had ever attended while at Luther. Umoja is about the people of African origin coming together to celebrate their culture and discuss about how to move forward.

Life of a Senior

The first three weeks of spring semester was hell because I was sick. I missed the first three days of school and had to play catch up with my classes. In my freshman year I had a plan which was to take at least 14 credits every semester and then take skills classes like golf and tennis for my senior year. I still remember vividly discussing my senior year plans with Louis, a friend of mine from Haiti. We planned to front load our college classes so that we enjoy senior year. When I began my senior year, I forgot about the plan.

Job Hunting

There was a time when people would wake up early in the morning to hunt wild animals and gather any edible food to feed their families. Now hunting comes in a much different form. Today, I gazed at the screen of my laptop for hours hunting for what will feed me, a job.

The Brother

While celebrating one of my friends birthday on the 22nd of February 2014, I reunited with a brother that I never got to know during his life at Luther College and I had not seen him in the past two months. I was exhilarated to see him. Even though he is American, I see him as my big brother.

Luther Family

I am back to the land of opportunities chasing my dream of becoming a statistician. Having spent more than a month home, I was starting to forget how cold Iowa can be. To be honest, as much as I was enjoyed being at home, I was starting to miss Luther College.
