"Luther has provided me with the fortunate opportunity to grow extensively as a world wide traveler," Sam admits. "I have gained new perspectives on cultures in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where fellow students and I brought our own ideals abroad but also brought them back to the Luther campus." He believes his study abroad experience really shaped his experience because he was able to travel to China and Japan and live with monks and practice Buddhism He also visited Turkey and Jordan to deliberate with Arabic leaders in politics, practice Muslim cultures and indulge in the history of the oldest place on the planet.
Sam admits that he has learned learning the importance of branching out on campus, too. "Luther has also taught me to challenge myself and go outside the realm of what I know through academics, social activities, internships and the professors, and something I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to do while being here."
