Luther College

For the past five years, over 90 percent of our graduates have entered the work force, enrolled in graduate school, or pursued volunteer assignments in the United States or overseas. And while making post-college plans for yourself may not be a priority for you right now, it soon will be. Should you choose to come to Luther, below are a few services we provide to help seniors realize their goals for life after college.

• Career Coaching--Whether you want to go to work, graduate school, or volunteer, you will likely need assistance with making that happen. Luther's Career Center will work with you throughout the entire search and application process, from researching opportunities to preparing applications to sharpening your interviewing skills.

• Career Fairs--In this day and age of social networking some students are surprised to learn that face-to-face networking events still take place. At Luther, we host six events for approximately 300 different kinds of organizations, including employers, graduate/professionals schools, volunteer/nonprofit organizations, and summer camps.

• On-Campus Interviewing--Picture this. You wake up, shower, put on a suit and walk across campus to the Career Center. You sit and wait for a few minutes, and then you interview for a full-time position as a consultant with a Fortune 500 corporation. Each year Luther students do this a few hundred times with a few dozen employers. And the application process is entirely paperless as it's done online through Luther's career management system, CareerConnection.

• Mock Interviews--Whether you're interviewing for a full-time job, a spot in medical school, or a Fulbright fellowship, you don't want to enter unprepared. No worries. We'll help you sharpen those skills through interviews tailored and designed to simulate what you'll encounter when the stakes are real.

• Alumni Connections--Maybe you've heard that personal and professional networking is the most powerful tool to one's career success. As a student at Luther, you will join and be able to take advantage of Luther's expansive alumni network.
