Once You Have Been Accepted

Congratulations on your acceptance to Luther!

Once you have made the decision to attend Luther, the next steps in the process are actually quite straightforward:

  1. Formally indicate your intention to enroll at Luther by submitting a $300 non-refundable enrollment deposit. The enrollment deposit secures your place in the entering class and confirms your acceptance of the financial aid awarded to you.
  2. Once your enrollment deposit has been paid, Luther uses $200 of this enrollment deposit on your behalf to pay for the SEVIS I-901 fee, which is required by the U.S. government prior to your visa interview. We will mail you a copy of the SEVIS I-901 fee receipt, which you will carry with you to your visa interview at the embassy/consulate in your country.
  3. We will also begin the process of preparing your I-20, which is the form necessary for your visa application. We will mail the I-20 to you, along with a comprehensive Luther College International Student Pre-Arrival Guide, via express mail.

Just so you know, many of the steps you need to follow as an international student from initial acceptance to arrival on campus and enrollment in courses are very different than the process for U.S. students, as outlined on the general admissions website. It's best for you to follow the process outlined in the Pre-Arrival Guide.
