Luther-Approved Program Costs
Students who participate on Luther-approved programs pay the fees of the program. They do not pay their Luther comprehensive fee (tuition, room, and board) in addition to the program's fees. Students on Luther-approved programs are, however, assessed a $100/per program special arrangements fee by Luther that will appear on their statement from the college the semester prior to their off-campus study experience.
It is very important for students to pay special attention to the fees charged by programs listed as Luther-approved because fee coverage can vary widely. It may cover only tuition; or it may include room and board, or just room. It is the responsibility of the student to make certain there are no misunderstandings as to program cost.
Students participating on Luther-approved programs may or may not be billed through Luther for their program. Questions regarding how they will be billed will be addressed on the cost/estimated budget sheet provided by Luther for the program. It is the responsibility of the individual student to check on deadlines for payment and make certain they are met. In most instances, a program deposit payable to the program provider is required shortly after acceptance; it is typically nonrefundable.
