jon hallberg, april 25-27, 2007

Jon Hallberg is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He is also the co-founder and creative director of the new Center for Medical Humanities and the Arts. Jon graduated from St. Olaf College in 1988 and the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1992. He completed a family medicine residency at the University in 1995 and was in private practice in downtown Minneapolis for 5 years. In early 2001 he joined the faculty of the medical school where he continues to practice, teach, mentor and provide administration for a variety of projects. Jon Hallberg

For 3 years he was medical director of the Primary Care Center at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, a clinic with over 50 providers and over 26,000 patient visits per year. Since late 2003, Jon has served as the weekly medical commentator on the regional "All Things Considered" on Minnesota Public Radio. On September 13, 2005, Jon was deployed to Lafayette, LA with the University of Minnesota Medical Reserve Corps to provide care for thousands of evacuees of Hurricane Katrina.
