farid esack, february 17-21, 2005

Dr. Farid Esack, an Islamic scholar from South Africa will be on campus as part of the 2nd Annual Midwest Regional Black History Month Conference February 17-21, 2005. Dr. Esack is currently the Besl Chair in Ethics, Religion and Society at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The goal of the visit is to expose students, staff, faculty and residents of Decorah to an Islamic scholar who is greatly concerned about the tensions that result from religious isolationism.
