Dr. Susan Karant-NunnDirector of the Medieval, Renaissance and Reformation Studies, University of Arizona. About Dr. Karant-NunnDr. Karant-Nunn will be on campus April 30- May 1, as a guest of the History Department. While here she will explore with students some of the rich traditions of the 16th century and how they relate the subject of vocation in a Christian context in the modern world. She will present an evening lecture, "The Vocation of Housewife in the Reformation: Help or Hindrance" on Wednesday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. in Olin 108. A renowned scholar, Dr. Karant-Nunn is the author of several books including The Reformation of Ritual: an Interpretation of Early Modern Germany, 1997 and Zwickau in Transition, 1500-1547: The Reformation As an Agent of Change, 1987. In the spring of 2003 she will publish Luther on Women: A Sourcebook. She received her Ph.D. in Early Modern European History from Indiana University, her M.A. in Medieval & Early Modern European History from University. She is a graduate fo Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa in Religion. Dr. Karant-Nunn will be meeting with students in the History and German departments as well as Paideia classes.
