Beth Lewis, November 14
Beth Lewis is the President & CEO of Augsburg Fortress, the ministry of publishing for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Beth is originally from Lexington, Kentucky and is a lifelong Lutheran. She attended the University of Kentucky and completed her undergraduate degree in Marketing and English at Maryville University in St. Louis. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School.
Beth spent 22 years working in progressively more responsible roles for three Fortune 500 publishing companies, Time Warner, McGraw-Hill, and Times Mirror. She was successful in various sales, marketing, editorial and general management positions.
In August 2002, Beth was called to her current role as President & CEO of Augsburg Fortress and relocated to Minneapolis, Minn.
In this role, she has led the staff in a turnaround effort that has included such notable successes as the publication of the Lutheran Voices series of books, THE LUTHERAN HANDBOOK, HERE WE STAND confirmation curriculum, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY adult Bible study program, AKALOO intergenerational, web-based faith formation resources, THE LUTHERAN COURSE, SUNDAYSANDSEASONS.COM a web-based worship planning tool, EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN WORSHIP and many other print and electronic ministry resources for use by Lutherans and other Christians.
