Dr. Beate Hofmann is professor of Christian Education at the University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg, Germany, an ordained Lutheran pastor, Co-Director of the Master Program for Adult Education and Head of the Board of the Institute of Continuing Education at the University of Nuremberg. In addition, she has worked as a consultant for congregations in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, Germany. |

Hofmann holds a PhD in Theology from the University of Munich, Germany and a Master of Theological Studies from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL. Hofmann's publications are in the area of theology, gender studies, and spirituality in social organizations. The focus of her activities is Christian Education and how it applies to youth and adults. Currently, she is investigating the role of Christian Education in evangelism programs and church development. Her teaching areas include church and society in Germany, church related education, youth work, adult education, training of lay people, spirituality and liturgy, diaconical work, bioethics, and gender studies.
